Ben Howe contacted me in 2018 with a project to extend the Triangle News brand with a sub-brand dedicated to ‘real-life’ viral video content. Ben and his team created a robust brief that included developing animated collateral to support the flat, or still, brand merchandise.
In addition to developing the logo and the animated segments for video content I also extended the brand into their social channels. This is particularly striking with their Facebook page which has an animated cover image that identifies with each of their video opening animations.
It was important to capture the essence of ‘VRL‘ without cheapening, or diluting, the message. The challenge was to create something that translates across media and commands respect whilst appealing to a vary wide demographic or audience.
